Was Hartalika Teej's full name?
Hartalika Teej is named for the legend that is associated with it. Harat means "abduction" while Aalika means "female friend". According to mythology, goddess Parvatihad one of her friends who accompanied Parvati to the forest to guard her against her father, who wanted to get her married to Lord Vishnu

For newly married women, Hariyali Teej rituals are crucial. Females are invited to their home by their parents. They are presented with Shringaritems such as Sindoor (vermilion), Bindi (forehead), Mehendi, henna, Bangles, etc. The parents also provide jewelry and clothes to the girl as well as her mother in law.
